Born from Building 50+ Client Sites
LaunchKit started as an internal tool at OwnStack Digital. After building dozens of client sites on the same stack, we extracted the common platform and made it reusable.
The Origin
From Agency Tool to Open Platform
Every client site we built at OwnStack followed the same pattern: Payload CMS for content management, Astro for the frontend, Cloudflare for hosting. After the tenth project, the shared code was larger than the custom code.
So we extracted it. LaunchKit is that extraction — a production-tested platform with 14 marketing blocks, a theme system, seed scripts, and deployment automation. Everything we wished we had when we started building client sites.
Philosophy
Build to Hand Over
The agency model that locks clients into retainers and proprietary platforms is broken. Clients deserve to own their websites outright — the code, the hosting, the data.
LaunchKit makes the total handover model economically viable. By reusing a proven platform, agencies spend time on client content and branding instead of rebuilding infrastructure. Ship fast, hand over completely, move on to the next project.
